African Sports Culture in Motion
Clockwork is a Ghanaian-owned sports and creative brand building basketball culture through design, storytelling, and community impact. Rooted in African identity and driven by lived experience, Clockwork operates at the intersection of sport, creativity, and youth development, using basketball as a cultural language to inspire, employ, and empower young people.
Founded by Clock Eckow, the brand represents resilience, intentional movement, and the belief that what begins as limitation can become legacy. Clockwork exists to create space for African creativity, storytelling. and industry participation.
We see sport as part of Africa’s creative economy: a powerful platform for expression, employment, and cultural influence. Through this lens, Clockwork blends product creation with media, community work, and long-term ecosystem building.
Rooted in Ghana. Built for Africa. Designed for the world.
Purpose (Why we exist)
Across Africa, millions of young people connect with sport daily, yet very few African-owned brands shape the culture, products, and opportunities around them. Clockwork was created to challenge this imbalance.
The Challenge
- African sports culture is dominated by external brands
- Youth talent lacks structured platforms for growth
- Sport is underutilized as a creative and economic industry
Our Mission
- Design high-quality, African-owned sports products
- Use basketball as a platform for youth empowerment
- Connect sport with creativity, media, and employment
- Tell authentic African basketball stories from within
Our Vision
To build a globally respected African sports brand that reflects local culture while creating sustainable creative and economic opportunities for African youth.
At its core, Clockwork is about transformation, turning challenge into craft, difference into design, and adversity into ownership.
Products & Design Philosophy

Design is central to Clockwork. Every product reflects movement, rhythm, time, and intention, the core ideas behind our name.
What We Create
- Performance basketballs designed for durability and identity.
- Jerseys and apparel inspired by African motion and street culture.
- Visual systems that merge sport, storytelling, and symbolism.
Our Design Approach
- Function meets culture
- Performance without compromise
- We see our products as more than equipment. They are cultural expressions, objects that carry pride, aspiration, and belonging onto the court.
Community Impact & Youth Development
Clockwork’s work extends beyond products into direct community engagement.
We collaborate with youth, schools, clubs, and community centers to create basketball-centered experiences that inspire confidence, discipline, and creativity on and off the court.
Our Impact Focus
- Grassroots basketball training and development
- Community tournaments and court activations
- Youth engagement through Game of Threes initiative
- Alignment with impact programs such as the 1312 Foundation
Through these initiatives, basketball becomes a gateway connecting young people to self-belief, creative expression, and future pathways within sport and the creative industries. Clock’s story is our biggest tool in our impact journey and we have collaborated in creating inspirational materials like the;
- 1312-MAKE THE CLOCK WORK (documentary) whish comes in three parts, what happened to Ekow’s leg, how Ekow got the name Clock and How Ekow made the clock work.
- THIS ABILITY (music EP project) by KOO KUSI
